Did you know that Lincoln, NE has its own sunflower seed company which dates back to 1953? That's right, in 1953 Henry and Marie Hill of Lincoln founded the company to cover their bills as a result of a three month long union strike at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The company gave no support to its employees or families during that time, which forced the Hills to start the business.
Marie continued to run the small family owned company until her death in 1994. It continued on by the guidance of their daughter Sandra who introduced half salt and roasted unsalted seeds. Many of the changes occurred through the help of the Food Strategy Program at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.
While there have been many changes throughout the years, one thing that remains unchanged is the excellent product and quality.
Add a 12 oz bag of the Hill's lightly salted sunflower seeds straight from Lincoln, NE!
